I am blessed. This weekend I have been surrounded by my family and my friends. And as I was considering what to write about this week, I just kept coming back to a sense of thankfulness.

Friday we were able to have dinner at our favorite local taco place with one if our best friends. I was able to volunteer to come in on a Saturday and work an event that our company was putting on. Sunday another couple offered to treat us to lunch after church. We celebrated the two year old birthday of our friends’ son with some hotdogs on the grill. I have a wonderful wife and baby girl. I’m just blessed.

So I dedicate this Monday morning to seven of the many, many thing for which I am thankful.

1. My wonderful wife and partner in life and family. She’s smart and beautiful, an awesome mom, and she loves me! What more could I want?!?

2. My happy baby. She is so content and happy. I love how she smiles and kicks her feet when she gets excited. It’s just one of the innumerable things I love about her.

3. Great friends. Life wouldn’t be complete without community.

4. Good food. Whether it’s sharing a meal in our home, at our friends’, or eating out, we’re blessed to be in a place where so much good food is readily available.

5. Having a job where people volunteer to work on a Saturday (and Mondays are not a dread). Work became a curse after the Garden of Eden, but it wasn’t created as something to be suffered through. Doing work that matters to yourself and to others is a wonderful feeling.

6. Good conversation. Not having conversations that tear people down, but having conversations that build up, engage our minds, and enrich our spirits are conversations that are worth having.

7. Did I mention my wife? I’m cheating by listing her twice, but I am double blessed by her. She encourages and inspires me to be a better person, spiritually and physically. She makes me want to be better. I could do life on my own, but it’s so much better with her.
