The First Day of the Rest of My Life

It’s a cliché, I know. Today is the first day of the rest of your life… But when I woke up this morning the first thought through my head was, today is the day I become a dad. It really is the first day of the rest of my life. It’s exciting and terrifying and nerve-wracking and wonderful all at the same time

The True Story of You

If someone was telling the story of your life, what kind of story would it be? Is it a comedy, a feel good romance? Or is it a tragedy, or a history full of dates and locations? There’s not a right or wrong answer. It’s just your life. Everyone has a story. What does yours say?

The Sleeping Farmer

How many ways did Jesus try to explain to his listeners about the Kingdom of God? He taught them in parables and stories and examples that they could see and relate to. Walking along in the countryside and seeing a field of wheat, Jesus would use the moment to teach. He looked for earthly examples to teach his followers lessons about the heavenly Kingdom.

God? Yeah, I’ve Heard of Him

And I loved getting the issue that had the map.

Wish You Were Here

We’ve all been touched by tragedy. And we’ve seen it in the world around us. We can try to ignore it and insulate ourselves in our safe little bubble. But with our multi-media world it is becoming harder and harder to NOT be aware. And we can’t help but wonder, where is God?

Peace in the Storm

Peace in the Storm

Today I was thinking about the story of Jesus calming the storm. I guess I have personally been in a bit of a storm this week as our plan to adopt has gone up and down and sideways, like those disciples being tossed around in the boat in that storm.

Servant Leadership by Example

Jesus gave us the example of servant leadership, to lead by serving and doing. He told his disciples the greatest in the kingdom must become the servant of all.
