Be Inspired

Be inspired by God. Take in God’s Word, for it is infused with the breath of life. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, [and] for instruction in righteousness.”

Under the Bridge

Last night my wife and I went into downtown Nashville for a Tuesday night church service under the Jefferson Street bridge with the homeless. This is a weekly outreach that provides a hot meal, worship, a message, groceries and other items the homeless are in need of. The Bridge Ministry has been doing this every Tuesday night since 2004.

Once Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of his day, the Pharisees, because they were tithing on every little mint leaf and mustard seed, but they were leaving out what he called the weightier parts of the law like justice and mercy. These are characteristics of God and they are characteristics that he wants us to emulate.

“He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.” (Proverbs 18:22, NKJV).

In the beginning as God created the heavens and the earth, day by day he looked at what he had made and declared it to be good. But it was not good that man was alone. Man was made in God’s image, but he was alone, and it was not good.
